- At least 48 college credits or completion of a Para Professional Assessment
- Current State of Alaska Teaching Certificate (for certified applicants)
- High school diploma or 48 credits qualifies as a Non‑Certified applicant
- Current Initial, Professional, or Master’s teacher certificate qualifies as a Certified applicant
- Ability to understand and follow directions; maintain effective classroom‑management strategies and establish effective working relationships with staff and students.
- $18.00/hr – Non‑Certified applicant (high school diploma only)
- $20.00/hr – Non‑Certified applicant with 48 credits or Para Professional Assessment
- $24.00/hr – Certified applicant with a current Alaska Teaching Certificate
Substitute employees are employed on an as‑needed, on‑call, day‑to‑day basis and are not guaranteed work on a regular basis.
