Surgery Technologist II

Overview

Foundation Health Partners (FHP) seeks a Surgery Tech II to support surgical teams at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, a non‑profit Joint Commission‑accredited facility with 152 beds serving Alaska’s interior.

• Scrub and prepare instruments, supplies, and equipment for all surgical specialties.
• Anticipate surgeon needs, retract tissue, operate equipment, and maintain competency to scrub for minimum of two specialties.
• Demonstrate aseptic technique, dispose sharps, clean and count instruments and sponges, and prep case cart.
• Assist with OR turnover between cases, stocking, replenishing supplies, and room cleaning.
• Participate in training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students as assigned.
• Provide business support to the department as needed.

• High school diploma/GED and current basic life support certification.
• Current surgical technologist certification and registration with State Regulatory Agency.
• Minimum 2 years operating room experience and proficiency to scrub minimum of two specialties.
• Strong manual dexterity, professional decorum, and organizational skills.
• Ability to respond quickly to surgeon and patient needs in high‑stress environments.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of surgical technology advances.

• Hourly wage $28.47 – $44.49, based on experience and education.

• Shift differentials: weekend $2.50/hr, evening $6.00/hr, night $6.00/hr, shift differential $2.00/hr.
