Job Summary

Job incumbent is responsible for the day, night, or weekend management and operation of the TCC Paul Williams House facility. Assists adult clients diagnosed with chronic mental illness with activities of daily living, individual and group skills development, crisis counseling and other supportive services.

Essential Functions
  • Provide shift coverage at the Paul Williams House as assigned. Assure that all residents adhere to facility policy and procedures.
  • Provide high‑quality functional assessments, individual and group skills development and case management to assist mental‑illness clients with behavioral health, social skills, recreation, self‑maintenance and daily living. Facilitate and schedule individual and group comprehensive community support services.
  • Provide clinical documentation in TCC behavioral health electronic records and maintain administrative records in compliance with the State of Alaska Medicaid regulations and other state and federal statutes.
  • Closely monitor residents’ behavior and document in chart or daily log. Report observations and problems to the appropriate Case Manager and Supervisor in emergency situations.
  • Monitor client usage of medicines in appropriate logs and ensure that clients take medicines according to prescription.
  • Perform housekeeping chores in staff office, bathroom, kitchen and common areas after each shift. Laundry as needed. Maintain inventory of supplies.
  • Ensure maintenance of safety and sanitary conditions in client apartments; teach or assist, if necessary, with housekeeping chores in client living areas.
  • Report needed repairs and maintenance to supervisor.
  • Maintain strict client confidentiality.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
    • One year of training or education in counseling, behavioral health and/or social services (preferred).
    • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
    • Must pass background check pursuant to Alaska DHSS and federal Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act requirements.
    Knowledge,

    Skills and Abilities
    • Strong computer skills – electronic records, publisher, Excel, word‑processing software, and e‑mail.
    • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to problem‑solve dilemmas and crisis situations.
    • Ability to relate well to individuals diagnosed with a serious mental illness.
    • Knowledge and adherence to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality regulations.
    • Knowledge of Medicaid third‑party billing (preferred).
    • Familiarity with Alaska Native cultures and rural lifestyles required.
    Physical Demands
    • Dexterity for walking up/down stairs and housekeeping duties; able to lift up to 25 lbs. Must climb stairs in a two‑story building with elevator and be able to stoop, kneel, and crawl as needed.
    Additional Information
    • No supervisory responsibilities.
    • Availability required for outside traditional work hours due to a 24‑hour supervised housing program; may work days, evenings, nights, weekends; must be able to work on short notice and in a sometimes stressful environment.
