$1,000.00 retention bonus (1/2 paid at six months and remainder paid at one year) for new hires.

This position performs registration duties including patient check-in and check-out, payment posting, and collection.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience

One-year recent experience in an office setting and one-year recent customer service experience or two years recent customer service experience. A recent healthcare office program certificate may substitute for experience. Prior experience in a medical, behavioral health, or dental office is preferred.

Essential Functions:

PSR I:

  • Report to work as scheduled, on time, and prepared. Remain for the entire shift.

    Note:

    ability to work all shifts with one-week notice unless in an emergency. Shifts start at 7:30 am and end at 6:00 pm.
  • Serve as ambassador to ICHC with patients, vendors, and visitors.
  • Greet and assist patients in the waiting room, monitor wait times, maintain cleanliness, and provide requested forms and items.
  • Perform general housekeeping including inspecting entrances, exits, waiting areas, and restrooms throughout the day.
  • Route incoming patients appropriately.
  • PSR II:

  • Perform all PSR I duties.
  • Register new patients and update existing patient information using the practice management system (PMS).
  • Handle insurance documentation and verify eligibility for sliding fee scale (SFS).
  • Complete training to become a Certified Application Counselor.
  • Assist uninsured patients with Medicaid and Marketplace enrollment.
  • Scan and input patient data into electronic health records.
  • Collect and post payments in PMS.
  • Check out patients.
  • Generate patient reminder calls and no-show letters.
  • Update patient information in Docutrack.
  • Answer and route phone calls.
  • Schedule appointments using PMS templates.
  • PSR III (Lead):

  • Perform all PSR I and II duties.
  • Assist with training new registration staff.
  • Manage scheduling maintenance, including creating, blocking, and deleting schedules.
  • Back up the Supervisor by preparing weekly employee schedules, including working extended shifts if needed.
  • Train employees on requirements for becoming Certified Application Counselors.
  • PSR I, II, & III:

  • Follow center policies and procedures.
  • Operate office equipment.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
    • Knowledge of office equipment (copier, fax, printer).
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Organizational and prioritization skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure.
    • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team.
    • Ability to handle cash and reconcile cash drawer.
