As an Ophthalmic Technician, you’ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care by supporting our Ophthalmologists and ensuring a smooth, efficient clinic flow. Your responsibilities will include:
- Accurately documenting and summarizing ophthalmic examinations in real time, including chief complaints, assessments, and treatment recommendations
- Supporting patient understanding by reinforcing provider instructions and sharing educational materials when needed
- Performing patient workups and specialized ophthalmic testing
- Administering ophthalmic medications and assisting with eye care instructions
- Preparing patients for in-office procedures and assisting with lasers and treatments
- Taking and documenting comprehensive medical histories
- Sterilizing and maintaining ophthalmic instruments and equipment
- Assisting patients with contact lens insertion and removal
- Maintaining clear communication regarding appointment status and patient flow
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Professional demeanor with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and compassionate care
- Willingness to support teammates and help across all clinic areas
- Basic knowledge of medical coding terminology
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and G-Suite tools
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant
- COA or COT certification preferred
- Commitment to maintaining required education, certification, and training
- Competitive pay: $21–$23 per hour
