Job OverviewWe are looking for a Radiation Therapist to be a part of our Outpatient Radiation Oncology Clinic. The role will play a vital role in delivering high‑quality radiation therapy treatments using the latest technology.
Responsibilities- Performs a prescribed planned course of radiation therapy as directed, following department policies, procedures, guidelines, and protocols in accordance with professional standards.
- Performs needed assessment, care, and treatment planning for patient population.
- Performs radiation therapy treatments by following and verifying referring providers’ orders.
- Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed.
- Operates treatment and planning equipment, including simulation, in accordance with departmental policy.
- Prepares treatments and administers prescribed doses following established policies and prepares and maintains accurate documentation.
- Demonstrates competence in performing prescribed invasive/interventional procedures in accordance with established policies.
- Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements; demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and notify appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance.
- Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors; adheres to radiation safety practices and ensures safe receipt, administration, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials using ALARA principles.
- Assumes ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to radiation oncology practice; maintains confidentiality of all work information.
- Assures efficient operation of departmental workflow.
- Associate degree in radiation oncology or related field.
- National certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensure by the state regulatory agency if applicable.
- BLS certification required.
- Strong knowledge of clinical techniques, applications, and equipment relative to the area of work.
- Effective communication skills, human relations skills, and safety‑conscious mindset.
- Previous radiation therapy experience preferred.
- Hourly wage: $44.09 to $70.54 based on experience and education.
- Retention Bonus: $20,000 for eligible new .
- Relocation Assistance: up to $7,500.
- Temporary Housing: 90‑day temporary housing provided.

Fairbanks Memorial Hospital is a non‑profit facility owned by the Greater Fairbanks Community Hospital Foundation. A Joint Commission‑accredited facility with 152 licensed beds, it is the primary referral center for residents of Alaska’s interior with a strong patient‑to‑nurse ratio and shared leadership infrastructure.
