Medical Assistant – Establishment and rapidly growing medical practice
Work 40 hours per week (Monday through Thursday).
Job Qualifications- American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR or BCLS certification
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; good computer skills
- Effective customer service skills; social skills; and age‑specific and cultural competencies
- Effective organizational and time‑management skills
- Greets, welcomes, and directs patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals; answers telephone calls and voicemails; processes facsimiles and mail; handles correspondence.
- Registers patients; reviews office policies; obtains, verifies, and updates demographic and insurance data; collects information from patients and from clinical records provided by referring physicians.
- Creates patient charts for new patients; updates and files data, test reports, and correspondence in charts; verifies accuracy and completeness; maintains security and integrity of medical records.
- Verifies patients’ insurance benefits; obtains pre‑authorizations; explains fee estimates and insurance benefits; collects copayments.
- Schedules appointments for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and follow‑up visits.
- Provides direct services for patients including patient scheduling, instruction and education on clinical protocols and testing procedures, obtaining informed consent, and assisting patients in walking, dressing, and moving within the office.
- Obtains and processes specimens; prepares patients for examination; performs point‑of‑care testing; takes vital signs and gathers other relevant health information.
- Sends and receives patients’ medical records; handles hospital notes, X‑ray and lab reports; communicates with referring physicians and other health‑care professionals to ensure continuity of care.

- Writes orders in the electronic medical record system and processes prescription refill requests on behalf of physicians (subject to physician review).

This position requires a candidate who works collaboratively with the healthcare team to assess, coordinate and implement patient care; who communicates effectively with staff physicians, referring physicians, nurse practitioners, and administrative staff; and who nasional continuity permisation for patient needs.
