We are seeking individuals who can work independently while upholding departmental standards of conduct and professionalism. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong awareness of risk management and safety, as well as a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Key qualities include a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Candidates should possess a reasonable level of physical fitness and consistently demonstrate dependability, responsibility, and punctuality.
Professional appearance and behavior are essential, as is a respect for individual differences and a commitment to diversity and inclusion. An interest in, or knowledge of, outdoor recreation and fitness activities is strongly preferred.
Note: This position requires availability to work evenings and weekends.
Success in this role is supported by hands‑on experience in a variety of outdoor recreation activities, such as hiking, camping, rock or ice climbing, paddling (canoeing, kayaking, rafting), and skiing.
Ideal candidates will have prior involvement with Outdoor Adventures programs, whether through participation or employment, and should bring a foundational understanding of outdoor leadership and group dynamics.
Additional qualifications that enhance success in this role include medical training and other documented certifications related to outdoor recreation, safety, and leadership. These may include, but are not limited to:
- Swiftwater Rescue
- ACA instruction
- Avalanche safety
- AMGA or PCIA training
- NOLS coursework
- Leadership development classes and certificates
Knowledge of and/or interest in outdoor recreation activities.
Position Details:This is a part‑time, student position. Compensation is based on experience and and the specific duties assigned.
