Minimum Position Qualifications
  • Customer service experience.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Basic math knowledge (counting, addition, subtraction).

  • Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.
Essential Job Functions
  • Greet and engage customers, ensuring a visible and welcoming presence.
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the POS system.
  • Handle various tender types (cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rewards, coupons) in accordance with company policy.
  • Adhere to cash handling limits, report discrepancies, and control loss.
  • Apply guidelines for restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs.
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
  • Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
  • Stay current with seasonal and special promotions.
  • Comply with food safety regulations and safety procedures.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues to store management.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections of equipment and report required repairs.
  • Answer customer questions about products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
  • Work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Resolve conflicts in a nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
  • Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
