What You Will Be DoingThe individual in this position is an advanced-level caseworker providing highly skilled services in cases that are complicated by topics such as media reporting or multiple social problems and cultural issues that require incumbents to have a considerable knowledge of the social work practices and principles and client base.

Your first twelve months in the agency are probationary and considered a training period, with formal virtual training, on-the-job training with your supervisor, and with other colleagues.
While this is a field-based position that involves working in the community, part-time telework within the duty station is an option upon eligibility.

The Interior Rural Field office serves approximately 30 rural communities in the Interior of Alaska. The home base location is in the Fairbanks Field office.
This position requires frequent travel to rural communities by car, small plane, ATVs, and boats.
The work we perform is critical and significantly impacts the communities we serve. As a result, the Office of Children's Services works on evenings and weekends, in addition to the workweek. Overtime and on-call work are expectations of our workers. PSS staff members are considered essential.
