Office of Children's Services (OCS) is recruiting for full‑time Protective Service Specialist 3 in Fairbanks, Alaska.
What You Will Be DoingThe individual in this position is an advanced‑level caseworker providing highly skilled services in cases that are complicated by media reporting, multiple social problems, and cultural issues. The incumbent will have considerable knowledge of social work practices, principles, and client populations.

Your first twelve months are probationary and include formal virtual training, on‑the‑job training with your supervisor, and with other colleagues.
Field‑based work includes community visits; part‑time telework is an option upon eligibility.
Working Environment You Can ExpectThe Interior Rural Field office serves approximately 30 rural communities in the Interior of Alaska. The home base is in the Fairbanks Field office. Frequent travel to rural communities by car, small plane, ATVs, and boats is required.
Work may occur evenings, weekends, and on‑call. Overtime and on‑call work are expectations. PSS staff are considered essential.

- All positions require a valid Alaska driver's license and a successful background investigation, including fingerprinting and a criminal records check.
- Vehicle mileage reimbursement is available when a personal vehicle is used.
- Child protective history check will be performed per AS 12.62.160 and/or 13 AAC 68.315.
- Candidate may be required to attend multiple training courses normally located in Anchorage.
