ATTENTION ALASKA RESIDENTS ONLY! The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Fairbanks International Airport is looking for an Airport Operations Officer to keep Alaska Moving!

Responsibilities

The Airport Operations Officer works under the general direction of the Airport Operations Supervisor. The officer is responsible for monitoring, coordinating, and directing all daily landside and airside operational activities at the airport to ensure a safe environment for air operations. Extensive knowledge of FAA, TSA regulations, security directives, advisory circulars, and experience in many disciplines is required. The officer exercises independence and sound judgment during routine and emergency operations.

Other Information

If an incumbent is required to use a firearm to assist in controlling wildlife hazards at the airport, they must comply with the federal Omnibus Consolidated Appropriations Act of 1997 (PL 104-208). Candidates must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence. Candidates must be eligible for an airport identification badge in accordance with TSA regulations (49 CFR 1542), which requires fingerprinting and background check.

Employees are subject to recall, must have a current Alaska driver's license, and may be required to maintain first aid certification.
