Clinical Coordinator For Nursing Education
Location:
Fairborn or Sylvania campuses. Full‑time position reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and dotted line to the Assistant/Associate Director of Nursing (ADON) at each campus, and a member of the Nursing Program Leadership Team.
The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the clinical components of the curriculum in accordance with Ohio Board of Nursing standards to provide an optimum learning environment for students.
Responsibilities- Secure, set up, and monitor clinical sites with Associate Directors of Nursing at assigned locations; establish cooperative relationships with key contacts.
- Onboard students to clinical sites and maintain required recordkeeping and documentation.
- Coordinate clinical scheduling with program courses in collaboration with the Nursing Program Leadership Team.
- Facilitate clinical training for faculty, staff, and students per Ohio Administrative Code 4723‑5‑20.
- Maintain health and safety precautions for faculty, staff, and students.
- Gather and maintain student medical records ensuring CPR, TB, and other health requirements are current.
- Ensure all Ohio Board of Nursing regulations related to the clinical experience are adhered to by faculty.
- Conduct site visits and assist in clinical faculty evaluations with the ADON.
- Maintain current accreditation documentation such as ABHES Site Visit Summaries and manage clinical affiliation agreements.
- Maintain a clinical site database with contact information and details.
- Assist in obtaining and maintaining cooperative agency contracts.
- Support clinical faculty with issues and student/site concerns; communicate matters to the ADON or CNO.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The position includes teaching responsibilities from time to time to provide coverage and/or work with new instructions.
RequirementsEducation and Experience:
- Bachelor’s of Nursing degree (BSN) or higher, with an active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Ohio.
- At least two years of RN experience providing direct patient care.
- Experience with precepting, working with students in clinicals, and teaching/education is strongly preferred.
- Background check required, including driving license verification.
- Ability to protect student and/or employee privacy when handling confidential or financial information.
Additional Qualifications:
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and move around the building or classroom to support students.
- Visual and auditory ability to operate computers, use telephone, read materials, use whiteboard and classroom equipment.
- Proficiency with current technology to maintain student records.
- Effective communication skills in classroom and individual settings.
- Knowledge of subjects taught to students and ability to use and communicate Ross curriculum.
- Adaptability to a fast‑paced work environment.
- Ability to achieve or maintain credential and/or licensure within expected time frames.
- Professionalism in manner, dress and conduct as a Ross representative and student mentor.
- Objectivity and equitable treatment of all students.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Adherence to Ross Code of Conduct and Professional Ethics.
- Ability to travel to visit clinical sites or other meetings.
- Prior teaching or formal tutoring experience using a developed curriculum is preferred.
- Perform related work as required.
