Electrical Instrument Technician – Fairburn, GAPay Rate:$41.20/hour
Shift Differential:+$1.25/hour for night shift
Location:Owens Corning – Fairburn Facility
Training Period (First 90 Days):
Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Day Shift)
Post-Training Schedule (after 90 Day probation one of the following scheduled will be awared to you based on Seniority):
- Day Shift:8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (3 days on / 3 days off)
- Night Shift:8:00 PM – 8:00 AM (3 days on / 3 days off)
Night shift includes a $1.25/hour shift differential.
The Electrical Instrument Technician (EIT) is a key member of the maintenance team, responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical, electronic, and instrumentation systems across the plant. This role ensures optimal equipment performance, supports safety and quality initiatives, and contributes to plant efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:- Troubleshoot and repair field devices including photo eyes
,
limit switches
, and
PLCs - Read and interpret
ladder logic
and
Allen Bradley Control Logix
systems - Work with
480V motor controls
,
servos
,
robotics
, and
Fanuc systems - Perform preventive and predictive maintenance
- Support production teams during breakdowns and equipment failures
Maintain and calibrate instrumentation such as thermocouples, pressure transmitters, and digital displays - Use SAP and other systems for work orders, inventory, and reporting
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and other maintenance staff
Skills & Experience:
- Strong troubleshooting skills, especially with
packaging equipment - Experience with
Allen Bradley PLCs
,
servo systems
, and
robotics - Ability to read electrical schematics and ladder logic
- Familiarity with
instrumentation maintenance
and
high-voltage systems - Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
- Must be 18 years or older with relevant industrial experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Frequent climbing, kneeling, twisting, and ladder use
- Continuous exposure to hot/cold environments and noise
- Must be able to wear a respirator and other PPE as required
