Position Summary

Since the doors opened in 1972, our Atlanta factory has grown dramatically into a state‑of‑the‑art facility. With sustainability and safety at the forefront of our minds, our factory proudly produces 460,000 tons a year of our dry pet food brands, including Alpo®, Beneful®, Cat Chow®, Dog Chow®, Friskies®, Purina ONE®, and Pro Plan®. The plant conserves water, invests in renewable electricity, maintains zero waste for disposal, and more.

Located along the southern crescent of Metro Atlanta, the facility serves a community of nearly 6 million residents.

As an Electrician you will be responsible for the maintenance of all plant systems, including facilities, unloading, processing, packing and warehouse operations. You will troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment, working safely at all times. Your role will contribute to machine reliability and process improvements across the plant. Work includes both predictive and preventative maintenance.

  • Troubleshoot electrical control systems including motors and PLCs.
  • Use basic diagnostic equipment such as a volt/ohm meter, wiggie, ammeter, and megger.
  • Properly use PPE while operating in MCC rooms.
  • Install sensors and troubleshoot/maintain switch gear, control wiring and components, overcurrent and overload protection for plant motors, including three‑phase systems.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain plant electrical and electronic equipment to a competent level, including operator interfaces, process controllers, power supplies, etc.
  • Calibrate plant metering devices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ year of electrical experience in a manufacturing, technical, warehouse, industrial, military, or related environment OR a 2‑year technical degree.
Other
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends.

The approximate hourly pay for this position is $35.07. Please note that the pay range is a good faith estimate; final compensation may vary based on factors including background, knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
