Seasonal Tax Preparer

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced tax preparer (w/at least 2 or more years of experience) using tax software. The ideal candidate will prepare tax, ensuring accurate and timely submissions using Tax Act Software.

• Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals using Tax Act Software.
• Review and verify tax documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with tax planning and compliance to ensure clients meet all filing requirements.
• Respond to tax-related inquiries and resolve any issues promptly.
• Stay up-to-date with tax codes and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining tax-related questions clearly and professionally.
• Assist clients with bookkeeping, payroll, and basic accounting tasks as needed using Quick Books.
• Support marketing efforts to attract new clients through community engagement and professional networking.
• Contact clients to set up appointments and package pick up.
• Resolve issues with IRS and State as needed.

• Proven experience in tax preparation, preferably with Tax Act software.
• Solid understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Prior experience in tax preparation role is preferred.
• Certification in tax preparation or accounting is a plus.
• Proficiency with accounting software Quick Books is plus.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple client files effectively.
• Must be available weekdays and weekend as needed.
