Staff Accountant

Title: Staff Accountant

Location: Fairfax, VA (hybrid flexibility once trained)

Assignment Type: Temp-to-permanent role

Compensation: $27-28/hr - conversion salary of $50-60K

Work Schedule: M-F, 9-5

Benefits: This position is eligible for Medical, Dental, and 401(k)

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries for month-end and year-end closing
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and sub-ledgers
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed
• Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and depreciation calculations
• Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements and audits
• Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures
• Provide accounting support for special projects or ad-hoc analysis
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–3 years of accounting experience (public or private)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
