• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post‑treatment care.
• Take and develop X‑rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Ensure infection‑control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records, scheduling, and patient intake (if needed).
• Help dentists manage emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.

• Completion of a one‑year certified dental assistant program
• One year on‑the‑job experience (with supporting documentation)
• X‑ray certification
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection‑control training as required by law
