BIM​/CAD Operator

• Operates computer‑aided design AutoCAD MEP & Revit software and peripheral equipment to develop drawings, including 3‑D and manufacturing design detail.

• 2 years of experience or a degree in the electrical construction industry, with knowledge of electrical symbols and drafting conventions and standards.

• Associate degree preferred in computer‑aided drafting.

• Experience with construction software applications:
  • Autodesk Revit
  • Autodesk Navisworks
  • Autodesk AutoCAD
  • Bluebeam Revu
  • Trimble
• General working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to create Revit worksets and understand the Revit work‑sharing process
• Ability to manipulate Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters and similar functions
• Fluency in the 2D and 3D space
• Understanding of 3D coordination with other trades
• Fluency with all plotters, printers and reproduction systems used in‑house or on the job site
• Create simple parametric families, schedules and complex geometry using shared parameters
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adjusting priorities as necessary
• Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position
• Basic knowledge of and ability to use architectural drafting tools.

• Model electrical systems based on markup drawings and/or verbal direction provided by electrical detailers
• Set up Revit views and sheets in preparation for shop drawings
• Annotate and dimension shop drawings for field installation
• Utilize Bluebeam Revu software to markup PDF drawings and communicate with team members
• Prepare copies and help make sets of documents for transmittal to other parties
• Download drawings and information from the Web, SharePoint, or project websites (Procore, ACC, etc.)
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Required to maintain a valid driver’s license.

• Background check, credit check, MVR and drug screen may be required (will vary by position).
