Senior Transportation Engineer

Our client, a leading multimodal transportation engineering consultancy, is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to join their vibrant and modern Fairfax, VA office.

• Oversee the preparation of Traffic Impact Studies (TIS), Transportation Demand Management (TDM) plans, parking analyses, and more to support land development projects across DC, Maryland and Virginia.
• Conduct operational analyses using Synchro, Vissim, and HCS.
• Prepare clear, concise technical reports, memos, and agency submittals.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, staffing, and invoicing to ensure timely, profitable delivery of high‑quality work.
• Stay current on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory updates in traffic engineering and design.
• Represent clients at public hearings and meetings with local jurisdictions and agencies, effectively presenting technical findings and project justifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• 4+ years of experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning.
• Strong fluency in Synchro, Sim Traffic, VISSIM, Sidra, Vistro, ArcGIS, and related softwares.
• Passion for collaboration throughout the development and execution of projects.
