Director of Revenue Accounting
Location: Washington, DC Metro Area (Hybrid – 2 days/month in-office)

About the Opportunity
A cutting-edge technology company is seeking a Director of Revenue Accounting to lead its revenue recognition and billing operations. This role is ideal for a CPA with deep experience in ASC 606, contract review, and revenue operations—especially those coming from Big 4 or top 10 public accounting firms.
The Director will oversee revenue accounting policies, ensure compliance with GAAP, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support scalable revenue processes in a high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead revenue recognition under ASC 606 across multiple revenue streams
- Review customer contracts and assess accounting implications
- Develop and maintain revenue accounting policies and procedures
- Oversee billing operations and ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Collaborate with sales, legal, and finance teams to support deal structuring
- Support audit and SOX compliance related to revenue
- Implement process improvements and automation initiatives
Qualifications
- CPA required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 8+ years of experience in revenue accounting, ideally in a high-growth or public company environment
- Big 4 or top 10 public accounting firm experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue operations
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Experience with ERP systems and revenue automation tools a plus
