- Own the monthly and quarterly billing cycles for workplace 401(k) plans
- Ensure accurate application of fee schedules, rate tiers, and exclusions
- Validate inputs such as AUM, participant counts, and plan-level configurations
- Design, document, and maintain billing workflows and controls
- Collaborate with IT and Operations to ensure data integrity and system alignment
- Lead mock billing runs and reconciliation processes to ensure audit readiness
- Review and validate data feeds from custodians, recordkeepers, and internal systems
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in account-level data and fee logic
- Partner with compliance to ensure billing practices meet fiduciary and regulatory standards
- Generate billing summaries, variance reports, and revenue forecasts
- Support Finance and Client Service teams with billing-related inquiries and reporting needs
- Recommend enhancements to billing systems and processes
- Participate in cross-functional projects to improve automation and scalability
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in billing, financial operations, or accounting
- Experience in the RIA or retirement plan industry strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of fiduciary billing principles and fee structures
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with billing platforms (e.g., Orion, Black Diamond, or similar) a plus
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Base salary range $94,500 – $126,000 nationally. Final base pay will be determined based on responsibility, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, dental, wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions.
