Job Summary

The Registered Dietitian is the key contact with guests to assess nutritional needs, make recommendations, and work collaboratively with client representatives (especially nursing/medical staff) and with Dining Services leadership to deliver guest needs to high standards. They lead the communication and implementation of clinical systems and programs, ensure documentation meets standards, and ensure nutritional requirements are incorporated into dining services production and operations.

Functions and Key Tasks
  • Evaluates resident nutritional needs and establishes an individualized plan of care
  • Monitors resident status and takes appropriate actions
  • Collaborates with dining services to ensure seven-day operation continuity
  • Creates and maintains documentation
  • Maintains client relationships
  • Updates and applies professional knowledge
  • Sets and communicates objectives; maintains high standards and monitors performance
  • Completes required departmental audits (clinical documentation, food safety, sanitation, meal accuracy, test trays)
  • Addresses corrective actions from audits as needed
  • Fulfills directives from corporate support within established time frames
Education and Experience
  • Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) and/or have licensure/certification
  • Serve Safe, Choke Save and Allergen certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics; successful completion of Dietetic Internship or equivalent; member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics;
    Master’s degree preferred
  • 2 years of clinical experience in senior living environment
Work Environment
  • Scheduling may involve 10 days on, 4 days off depending on support needs
  • Extensive travel up to 100%
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reside within commutable distance to a major airport
  • Work with extreme temperatures/conditions and frequent interaction with heated equipment, grease, refrigeration/freezer, and other at-risk conditions
  • Computer literacy and ability to work with multiple software programs
  • Involves repetitive motion, walking/standing for extended periods
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, and carrying; repetitive wrist motion
