Job DutiesWe are seeking a Part‑Time Healthcare Associate Officer to protect hospital‑controlled properties and equipment, and provide a safe and secure environment for Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute (NVMHI). The schedule for this position is negotiable. This position patrols the facilities grounds and buildings ensuring the areas are secure and that safety issues are addressed. It supports activities of the facilities such as responding to escorting individuals we serve on Special Hospitalizations, processing electronic fingerprinting, supporting emergency management programs, transporting individuals, and providing support to the switchboard/reception as well as assist with patients on nursing units.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of Virginia state codes, laws, and regulations; ability to follow written and oral instructions; to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; have ability to write reports; have the ability to use Microsoft products; and to use interpersonal skills to establish and maintain an effective working relationship.
- Demonstrated customer service experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products like Word and Excel.
Prior experience operating hand‑held radios is preferred.

These positions are hourly/wage and not eligible for benefits. Hourly (wage) employees may not work more than 29 hours a week and are limited to working 1500 hours in a year.
