We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Medical Biller to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical billing, insurance claims, and revenue cycle management, preferably in cardiology or another outpatient specialty.
Responsibilities- Prepare, submit, and track medical claims to insurance companies, including Medicare and commercial payers.
- Review claims for accurate CPT and ICD-10 coding.
- Follow up on unpaid, denied, or rejected claims and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Post insurance payments and reconcile patient accounts.
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and billing requirements.
- Assist with prior authorizations and insurance-related inquiries as needed.
- Manage accounts receivable and work to minimize outstanding balances.
- Communicate with insurance companies and patients regarding billing issues.
- Maintain accurate billing records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Previous medical billing experience required, preferably in an outpatient physician practice.
- Experience with eClinical
Works (eCW) preferred. - Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing.
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, modifiers, and medical billing procedures.
- Experience handling claim denials, appeals, and accounts receivable.
- Cardiology billing experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
