ISR Systems (ICS) specializes in products and services which improve the safety and survivability of our armed forces. This position will be part of the Predictive Maintenance and Logistics Team supporting Department of Defense (DoD) customers on projects that leverage advanced technologies including machine learning, artificial intelligence (ML/AI), and cloud infrastructure. The Principal Data Visualization Specialist will lead the design and delivery of advanced data visualization solutions using Qlik, ensuring that dashboards and reports provide meaningful, actionable insights to decision-makers.
The employee will serve as a subject matter expert on Qlik development, data modeling, and visualization strategy, while mentoring junior team members and advising program leadership on best practices. The role includes close collaboration with data scientists and analysts, integration of visualizations with cloud and big data platforms, and engagement with customers to refine requirements. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance are required.
and Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of Qlik dashboards, reports, and visualization products for complex datasets.
- Partner with program leadership and customers to define visualization requirements and deliver solutions that drive decision-making.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data across visualization products.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Qlik scripting, data modeling, and performance optimization.
- Mentor junior visualization staff and provide guidance on best practices.
- Integrate Qlik solutions with ML/AI models, cloud platforms, and large-scale data pipelines.
- Stay current on emerging visualization tools and methods and make recommendations to improve organizational capabilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field and a minimum of 9 years of related experience OR 7 years with a Master’s degree (or 13 total years in lieu of a degree).
- Expert-level proficiency in Qlik View, Qlik Sense, and Qlik scripting.
- Strong SQL skills and deep understanding of ETL workflows.
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex dashboards in government or DoD settings.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and big data technologies.
- Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to mentor junior staff and lead small project teams.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
