CGI Federal seeks an experienced Technical Architect to lead a highly visible government project, working collaboratively with clients and teams to deliver an AI‑first, AWS cloud‑native solution that addresses complex system integration challenges.
Future Duties and Responsibilities
As the Technical Architect and a key member of the project’s leadership team, you will spearhead the development and evolution of solution architecture for an enterprise‑wide system that integrates with multiple federal systems. You will design open‑source/AWS cloud‑native solutions at scale, leveraging automation, AWS services, Dev Sec Ops , and modern application practices. Working directly with senior‑level executives, technical teams, and functional subject‑matter experts, you will apply proven design best practices, champion automation, and translate complex technical concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences in a demanding and dynamic client environment.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role- Defining system and application architecture, and establishing development best practices to be leveraged across development team(s).
- Collaborating with client stakeholders and Agile teams to address technical and business requirements, making recommendations for optimum solution design.
- Working with functional subject‑matter experts to identify appropriate use cases for automation, including AI, RPA, and other techniques.
- Leading Analyses of Alternatives (AoAs) to determine the right technology to address required capabilities, including custom, COTS, and hybrid tools/solutions, and clearly articulating recommended tools and approaches to CGI.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum five to eight years’ experience architecting and designing large‑scale enterprise solutions.
- Experience defining the architecture of AWS cloud‑deployed applications using microservices and containerization.
- Experience leveraging AWS cloud‑native services including Bedrock, Strands, S3, Lambda, SQS, Open Search, and Terraform.
- Advanced knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript/Angular, Python).
- Experience establishing modernization and migration roadmaps for a large ecosystem of integrated applications.
- Experience using automation techniques to automate inefficient, manual processes.
- Familiarity with emerging capabilities such as agentic and generative AI and the ability to assess and integrate those capabilities.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical concepts in plain language and deliver technical demonstrations.
- Familiarity with Federal procurement and acquisition systems is desired.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (or ability to obtain certification) is desired.
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The current range for this position in the U.S. is $127,500 – $310,700, determined by skill, experience, and other factors. Compensation decisions are made on a case‑by‑case basis.
