Niyam is seeking an experienced Technical Lead/Cloud Application Architect to join our team in support of our work with one of our federal clients. We offer competitive compensation and benefits. This position will be onsite approximately two times per month.
Roles and Responsibilities- Serve as a cloud application architect and senior technical advisor across multiple programs, guiding teams on cloud-native architecture, platform standards, and implementation approaches.
- Define, review, and evolve application architectures in AWS (experience with Azure or Google Cloud a plus), ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with federal compliance requirements.
- Establish and maintain reference architectures, architectural patterns, and reusable design standards for cloud-based applications.
- Review system designs, technical approaches, and implementation plans, providing architectural guidance and risk mitigation recommendations.
- Advise teams on effective use of managed cloud services and architectural patterns (e.g., serverless, event‑driven, and container-based approaches).
- Define and recommend full‑stack technology standards and architectural patterns supporting application development, front‑end modernization, and data processing pipelines.
- Strong hands‑on background in full‑stack development to support architectural direction, including Java-based APIs, Python services, and modern JavaScript front‑end frameworks.
- Design and govern application integration strategies and API standards to enable secure, scalable data exchange across enterprise systems.
- Design and govern RESTful API architectures primarily implemented in Java, with Python‑based services used where appropriate.
- Partner with Dev Ops and platform teams to define and standardize CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and deployment practices.
- Provide technical oversight to ensure adherence to coding standards, security controls, and quality expectations.
