Position: Chief Solutions Architect with Security Clearance
Chief Solutions Architect
Active Secret Preferred Hybrid-within commutable distance to Northern VA/DCA Nationwide IT Services, NIS, is seeking a Chief Solutions Architect for the following potential opportunity:
* Define and maintain the enterprise solution architecture across cloud, application, data, and security domains.
* Establish architectural standards, patterns, and best practices for AWS Gov Cloud, microservices, and Dev Sec Ops .
* Lead technical roadmaps supporting system modernization, cloud migration, and digital transformation initiatives.
* Architect and govern secure, highly available, and resilient cloud solutions using AWS Gov Cloud (US).
* Oversee designs utilizing services such as: VPC, Transit Gateway, IAM, KMS, Cloud Trail, Config, ECS/EKS, Fargate, Lambda, RDS, Dynamo

DB, S3, EFS.
* Define multi-account strategies, network segmentation, identity federation, and cross-domain architectures.
* Ensure solutions align with the AWS "Well-Architected Framework" and federal security baselines.
* Define and oversee Dev Sec Ops  pipelines integrating security, testing, and compliance into CI/CD workflows.
* Ensure CI/CD pipelines support:
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloud Formation), Automated testing and security scanning (SAST, DAST, IaC scanning), Artifact management and versioning.
* Promote "shift-left" security and automation aligned with continuous ATO (cATO) objectives.
* Ensure solutions meet: NIST RMF (800-37, 800-53 Rev
5), FedRAMP Moderate / High, FISMA, DoD Cloud Computing SRG
* Create, Review, and Approve:
Architecture design documents, System diagrams, Security artifacts, Technical implementation plans. Primary Objectives:
Assist in the Discovery Phase activities of gathering user requirements, business analysis, legacy system analysis, Epic/Story creation, external data integration planning, and product backlog management.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Active Secret Clearance Preferred
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
* 12+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, cloud solutions, or large-scale system design.
* 7+ years of hands-on AWS experience, including AWS Gov Cloud (US).
