Chechen Linguist Translator, Transcriber, Interpreter

CACI is seeking TS/SCI clearance candidates for Chechen Speakers, Translators, and Interpreters to support government operations in Fairfax, VA.

This role will enable you to utilize both your linguistic and analytical skills for mission-driven work. You will translate and/or transcribe intermediate to advanced-level printed materials, including but not limited to technical manuals, foreign language periodicals, and audio files into correct grammatical American English. You will work either as a lead or as part of a team of linguists supporting CONUS and/or OCONUS operations.

• Accurately translate reports/texts in electronic and hard-copy formats that contain facts and some abstract language, capturing intended implications and nuances.
• Generally capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in text. Word choice and expression adhere to target language norms and are appropriate for the subject field.

• Interpret accurately. Typically, consecutive interpretation is needed, but simultaneous interpretation (French and/or Arabic to English and English to French and/or Arabic) may be requested on occasions.
• Have a good understanding of one or more regional dialects.

• Review audio or internet materials and transcribe with a high degree of accuracy and expression.
• Possess excellent English-language written communication skills for preparing reports.
• Have a good understanding of one or more regional dialects.

• Ability to pass an advanced English test
• Active TS/SCI clearance with adjudicated polygraph
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Ability to score ILR Level 3 or higher on target language translation test
• Minimum five (5) years’ professional experience conducting translation, transcription, translation, and/or interpretation
• In-depth knowledge of geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural components of target language geographical areas
• Mastery of MS Office and internet research

• Previous military experience
• Good understanding of one or more regional dialects
• Consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation abilities

This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. However, it is representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available. Individuals who apply may also be considered for other positions at CACI.

The Proposed Salary Range For This Position Is $86,600 - $181,800.
