This role will enable you to utilize your linguistic skills for mission-driven roles. You will translate and/or transcribe intermediate to advanced-level printed materials, including but not limited to technical manuals, foreign language periodicals, and audio files into correct grammatical American English. You will work either as a lead or as part of a team of linguists supporting CONUS and/or OCONUS operations.

Translation, You Will Do

• Accurately translate reports/texts in electronic and hard-copy formats that contain facts and some abstract language, capturing implications and nuances.
• Generally capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in text. Word choice and expression adhere to target-language norms and are appropriate for the subject field.

Interpretation, You Will Do

• Interpret accurately. Typically, consecutive interpretation is needed, but simultaneous interpretation (Persian to English and English to Persian) may be requested on occasions.
• Have a good understanding of one or more regional dialects.

Transcription, You Will Do

• Review audio or internet materials and transcribe with a high degree of accuracy and expression.
• Possess excellent English-language written communication skills for preparing reports.
• Have a good understanding of one or more regional dialects.

• Ability to pass an advanced English test
• Active TS/SCI Clearance with adjudicated Polygraph
• Bachelors Degree
• Ability to score ILR Level 3 or higher on target language translation test
• Minimum five (5) years’ professional experience conducting translation, transcription, and/or interpretation
• In-depth knowledge of the geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural components of target language geographical areas
• Master use of MS Office and internet research

• Previous military experience
• Good understanding of one or more regional dialects
• Consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation abilities

This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. It may be representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available. Applicants may be considered for other positions at CACI.

Pay and Benefits

The proposed salary range for this position is $86,600 - $181,800
, dependent on location, experience, and other factors. CACI is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
