Position: Endoscopy Registered Nurse Lead, GI – Full Time, Fairfax, VA

Gastro Health is seeking a full time RN lead to join our outpatient endoscopy center in Fairfax, VA. In this role, you will provide exceptional patient care during endoscopic procedures. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining a sterile environment. Collaborating with the healthcare team, you will educate patients, document procedures, and ensure adherence to quality standards.

As

an Endoscopy RN with Gastro Health, you will:
  • Assist the physicians to provide direct patient care for colonoscopy & endoscopy procedures
  • Completion of admission assessments
  • Monitor patients receiving IV moderate sedation
  • Oversee and participate in the preparation and flow of the procedure room
  • Preparation for discharging patients
  • Post-anesthesia care
  • Train and mentor other staff
  • AAAHC maintenance and preparation
  • Staffing schedules
  • Inventory and stock

Candidate Requirements:
  • Current Virginia RN license (required)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Recovery room experience a plus
  • IV skills are a plus
  • BLS and ACLS required

Job Duties
  • Compliance with all clinical policies and procedures, systems and applications.
  • Develops and maintains a clean, safe and pleasant environment.
  • Proper assisting to the physicians before, during and after procedures.
  • Performs nursing assessment of patient prior to, during and after the procedure.
  • Administration of conscious sedation and topical anesthetics under MD supervision.
  • Maintains competencies in all areas of endoscopy.
  • Patient education.
  • Proper documentation of all pertinent information regarding the care of patient; this should be done in an adequate and timely manner.
  • Become trained and proficient in all essential work areas of the center.
