Job Description
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is seeking a Full‑Time (30 hours per week, 3x12 one week and 2x12 the next) night shift Registered Nurse. May need to orient on daytime shift at times. A minimum of one year of NICU nursing experience is required.
Inova Fair Oaks Hospital’s level III NICU offers 24‑hour staffing from highly experienced, board‑certified neonatologists and specially trained and certified nurses. Our 19 private rooms are fully equipped to provide comprehensive care. The nurse‑to‑patient ratio is 1:3.
Responsibilities- Provides knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patient, family, nurse, and the broader healthcare delivery team.
- Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others, respecting and understanding other clinical disciplines, and uses an integrated approach toward patient outcomes.

- At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse; one year of specialty RN experience if required by the unit.
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association required at hire.
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or eligible for licensure.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution; if holding an Associate Degree (ADN), must complete a BSN within five years of start date.
