Job DescriptionInova Fairfax Women’s Hospital is seeking a full‑time PACU Nurse Supervisor. The role covers four 10‑hour shifts per week, 6:00‑4:30 a.m.; shift hours may vary. There are no night, weekend, or on‑call shifts.
The PACU unit is a 32‑bay Preoperative and PACU department caring for patients before and after General Gynecology, Gynecological Oncology, Urological Gynecology, and Robotic procedures. On average, 30 patients are seen per day, with 75 % returning home the same day. Acuity ranges from benign procedures to extensive oncology cases.
The Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor is a front‑line leader responsible for delivering reliable results related to quality and best practices, improving clinical operations, and supporting unit‑based shared governance. The role acts as a role model, leading by example to ensure “Service Always” and prioritizing patient experience.

- One year of nursing experience.
- Degree from an accredited nursing school: BSN, or ADN within one year of BSN completion.
- RN license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA.
- Specialty certification required by the unit within one year of hire.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- RN with at least two years of PACU experience (Pre‑Op, phase 1 & 2 recovery).
- Prior leadership experience (charge, supervisory, or management).
