Mortgage Field Services Inspector
FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders.
Independent contractors earn a predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but an ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. Based in Reno, NV, FAR Inspections has been in business for over 9 years.
Responsibilities- Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
- Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.
- Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
- Complete a short form in a mobile application.
- Spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.
- Conduct short 5–6 minute inspections for each assignment.
- Computer with an internet connection.
- Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you will be paying for your own gas).
- Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
- Printer.
- Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume. Some inspections pay between $30‑$40 per hour. Expect to complete 20‑500 inspections per month, working 2‑30 hours per week depending on the county. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month‑to‑month.
No additional mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
