The Oncology Sales Specialist will deliver sales performance and promote product(s) within the oncology, hematology or rare disease portfolio of Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world and a pioneer in oncology. The role requires a deep level of commercial insight, lifelong learning, proactive leadership, and digital tool utilization to improve sales opportunities in competitive markets.

  • Demonstrate deep understanding of territory market landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, product, clinical data, and anticipate environmental changes and challenges.
  • Develop and execute a call‑plan to achieve goals and improve access and sales opportunities, while promoting a highly technical and innovative product portfolio to a sophisticated audience.
  • Strong understanding of the local healthcare system landscape, EMRs, pathways, and PA‑claims processing; embody an account management mentality with the ability to develop and execute account‑level plans.
  • Use sales data reporting tools to understand trends, coupled with customer insights, to identify territory and customer growth opportunities.
  • Demonstrate use of social media platforms to capture customer insights to drive tactical execution and improve customer experience.
  • Move agilely between non‑digital and digital settings, and strategically use non‑personal tools to deliver customized customer experiences.
Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4‑year college or university.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or similarly structured industries with large, geographically dispersed sales teams within the last 5 years. Candidates from medical devices, diagnostics, life sciences services, insurance, consumer health, or B2B sectors with strong field leadership and customer engagement are welcome.
  • Strong ability to collaborate cross‑functionally within a matrix environment, communicate clinical product information, and demonstrate a validated track‑record of consistent high performance and success selling to large accounts.
  • Self‑starter with analytic abilities to seek out, prioritize, and apply relevant information to solve problems and meet key customer needs. Demonstrate ethical leadership and promote an environment that embraces ethical behavior and compliance with company policies and laws.
  • Candidate must reside within territory or within a reasonable daily commuting distance of 50 miles from the territory border, and be willing to travel 60–80% of the time over a broad geography. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience across therapeutic groups, disease states, account management strategy, and new product launches.
  • Broad understanding in patient services, market access, buy and bill, specialty pharmacy, reimbursement and/or medical calling on HCPs with respect to a sophisticated product or reimbursement pathway.
