Diesel Mechanic Technician – Fairfax

Transdev North America invites experienced Diesel Mechanics to join our Fairfax, VA team. This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across a variety of vehicles, ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity of the fleet.

A‑Tech

• Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on diesel engines.
• Perform routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with team to ensure efficient and accurate repairs.
• Complete preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
• Lead advanced troubleshooting and rebuild components to specification.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.
• Other duties as required.

B‑Tech

• Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software.
• Perform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on components.
• Assist A‑Level mechanics in advanced diagnosis and repair tasks.
• Execute routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
• Lead advanced diagnostic troubleshooting.
• Provide guidance to junior technicians.
• Other duties as required.

C‑Tech

• Perform repairs and replacements on diesel engines.
• Assist higher level technicians in advanced tasks.
• Execute routine maintenance.
• Lead diagnostic tests.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and component rebuilding.
• Other duties as required.

• Minimum years of experience: A‑Tech 4 years; B‑Tech 2 years; C‑Tech some automotive experience.
• Ase certifications required (program provided).
• Mechanic’s tool set.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical;
  Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 applies.

• Work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
• Long periods sitting, typing, or looking at a screen.
• Work environment both indoors and outdoors.
