Full-Time | $30.00 per hour | Non-Licensed Position
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Services Assistant to join our team. In this important role, you will support residents and their families by helping address social, emotional, and practical needs. You will work closely with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team to promote dignity, individuality, choice, and quality of life.
Your compassion and communication skills will help create a supportive environment where residents feel heard, respected, and valued.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Sociology, Psychology, Special Education, Rehabilitative Counseling, or a related field preferred.
- This is a non-licensed position.
- Experience in a healthcare, long-term care, social services, or human services setting preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and respectful approach when working with residents and families.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Your role will encompass a variety of responsibilities and communication needs:
- Interact with residents and families while maintaining dignity, respect, and confidentiality.
- Provide emotional support and assistance to residents and families.
- Build positive relationships between residents, families, and staff.
- Promote resident individuality, independence, and choice.
- Assist residents and families with identifying and accessing appropriate community resources.
- Participate in resident care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Document social services interactions and resident needs accurately.
- Assist with gathering social histories and information about residents' backgrounds.
- Observe and report changes in residents' behavior, attitude, mood, or social needs.
- Advocate for residents and help ensure their concerns and needs are communicated to the appropriate team members.
- Assist residents and families in navigating resources and services available to them.
