Book Keeping

The Bright Spot is looking for a full-time or part-time bookkeeper to join our team! We are a recreational dispensary operating in Fairfield, Ca. Our ideal candidate is someone who has a solid understanding of basic accounting principles and is proficient with Quickbooks Online & Quickbooks Desktop. Attention to detail, willingness to learn, and the ability to multitask are essential for this position.

We process hundreds of thousands of transactions a year so staying organized is a must!

• Maintain up-to-date documents for our company
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements, AP and AR on Quickbooks
• Review and prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements
• Process payroll and file payroll tax forms
• Schedule sales tax prepayments and file sales tax returns
• Compile year-end financials and tax documents for CPAs
• Post adjusting journal entries
• Prepare 1099s and W-2s

• College degree (preferably in accounting or a related major)
• Basic accounting courses
• Proficiency in Quickbooks desktop and Quickbooks Online
• Competency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel (must know how to use formulas)
• Ability to speak clearly and listen attentively to peers, supervisors, and clients
• Time management and understanding of deadlines
• Must be 21 years of age or older

• 2-3 years bookkeeping experience
• Business acumen and understanding of accounting cycle
• Proficiency with ADP, Gusto, Paychex, or any other payroll system

This is a full-time to part-time position.

The starting salary for this position depends on the depth and breadth of applicant's experience.
