Salary: $21.16 - $29.00 hourly

Under general supervision, responsible for completing cosmetic inspections, final quality inspections, vehicle cleaning, paint touch‑up, wet sanding, and buffing of Car Max used, new, and customer vehicles according to Car Max standards. Duties include reconditioning associate tasks such as zone maintenance, prep for delivery, vehicle receiving, inventory scanning, vehicle movement, detailing, wash bay, interior cleaning, and exterior cleanliness.

• Execute standardized work processes at established pace.
• Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement with the team.
• Assist in training new associates under Reconditioning Associate Lead.
• Perform cosmetic reconditioning, including paint touch‑up, wet sanding, and buffing per Car Max standards.
• Complete cosmetic and final quality inspections.
• Maintain workplace cleanliness and 5S standards.
• Identify defects and recommend repairs.
• Provide auction support.
• Drive vehicles on and off lot.
• Deliver outstanding customer service.

• Complete all online and hands‑on training, including KRONOS.
• Meet Associate 1 competency model and performance standards.
• Earn Reconditioning Associate certifications (I and II).
• Ability to read and transcribe data accurately.
• Perform manual tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong communication skills.

• Indoor/outdoor, noisy, possible inclement weather.
• Walk or stand for extended periods.
• Wear approved Car Max clothing.
• Follow OSHA, EPA standards and use PPE.
• Adhere to Car Max policies (attendance, asset protection, appearance).

Full‑time hourly associates may earn up to 48 hours of sick time, 80‑200 hours of vacation depending on tenure, and six paid holidays plus a floating holiday. Full‑time salaried associates have unlimited paid time off. Additional paid time includes sick, vacation, holiday, bereavement, jury duty, and more.
