The Neurosurgeon will manage a broad range of complex neurological conditions and procedures, offering both inpatient and outpatient care. This role involves diagnosing, treating, and surgically managing conditions of the brain, spine, and nervous system, collaborating with other specialists to ensure comprehensive care for all patients.

Position Overview- Call
Schedule:
24‑hour call shifts 0700‑0700 - Call Ratio: 3‑7 days per month as needed for coverage
- Average Patient Census/Case Load: clinic 15‑20 pts, surgery based on scheduled cases; adult and geriatric populations.
- Team Support:
Physician Assistants - Practice Setting:
Inpatient and Outpatient settings. - Equipment or Services:
Advanced neurosurgical tools, MRI, CT, neuro‑navigation systems, spinal imaging, electromyography (EMG).
- Diagnose and manage neurological conditions, including brain and spinal tumors, epilepsy, vascular disorders, traumatic brain injuries, degenerative spinal diseases, and other neuro‑related disorders.
- Perform a variety of neurosurgical procedures such as brain and spine surgeries, minimally invasive techniques, craniotomies, spinal fusions, and stereotactic surgeries.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of neurologists, oncologists, physical therapists, and other specialists to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Manage post‑operative care for patients, including recovery, rehabilitation, and long‑term follow‑up care.
- Respond to urgent and emergent neurological cases including trauma, stroke, and other time‑sensitive surgical interventions.
- Participate in research studies and clinical trials, contributing to the advancement of neurosurgical practices.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, and post‑surgical recovery plans; mentor residents and fellows.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health regulations and standards established by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and other governing bodies.
- MD or DO degree with completion of an accredited neurosurgery residency program. Fellowship in spine surgery preferred.
- Board‑certified.
- Valid medical license to practice in California.
- Proven experience in neurosurgery with expertise in treating complex neurological conditions, performing surgeries, and managing pre‑and post‑operative care.
- Strong surgical, diagnostic, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Per‑diem compensation: $3,100 per day for call and $90 per wRVU.
