Job Overview

Under the supervision of the Dean of the School of Applied Technology & Business, the teaching faculty are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, and managing effective instructional activities. Additional duties include developing course curriculum, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, and fostering cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, and maintain curriculum for courses taught in Computer Information Sciences and Computer Applications.
  • Provide instruction in accordance with established course outlines, inform students about program requirements, and prepare and grade assignments and examinations.
  • Meet administrative timelines, submit required documents and reports, and maintain student attendance and academic records.
  • Advising students and collaborating with industry partners to ensure curriculum relevance and provide necessary training and education.
  • Participate in program review and curriculum development, including the assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes (SLO) and program learning outcomes (PLO).
  • Use technology to enhance student learning and maintain current knowledge of programming languages such as Visual Basic, C++, Python, and/or Java.
  • Assist in recruiting students and promoting the CIS program through college-sponsored events, student clubs, and outreach.
  • Participate in college-wide committee work and collegial governance.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent; or a Bachelor's degree with a master’s degree in mathematics, cybernetics, business administration, accounting, engineering, information science, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize multiple teaching methods and interactive technologies to address diverse learning styles.
