DescriptionPlease note that this position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid. The Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) – Level II is responsible for performing inspections, calibrations, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of medical and non‑medical support equipment, including medical package tools, generators, and environmental control units. The BMET II ensures all work is conducted in compliance with OEM guidance, DoD instructions, applicable regulations, and unit directives.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Follow original equipment manufacturer guidance, AFI, regulations, and unit direction.
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and calibration of biomedical equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in medical devices, performing necessary repairs or coordinating with vendors for service when required.
- Maintain detailed service records, documenting repairs, maintenance actions, and performance evaluations.
- Assist in the installation and configuration of new biomedical equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
- Perform life cycle management, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of medical and non‑medical support equipment (oxygen generating systems, radiographic diagnostics equipment, life support systems, etc.).
- Determine associated support items of equipment in order to perform scheduled services and maintenance repairs and calibration; supply support and provisioning requirements; and training requirements.
- Prepare necessary support documentation and purchase requisitions of parts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
10% to 25% travel required.

Qualifications- Associate’s degree.
- Must have graduated from the DoD Biomedical Maintenance Course or an accredited civilian Biomedical Maintenance Course.
- Must graduate from the Planmeca digital dental course no later than 12 months after start.
- Four years of field experience in performing and managing initial inspections, calibrations, diagnostics, maintenance, life cycle management, and repair of medical equipment within OEM guidance, advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of medical and non‑medical support equipment (oxygen generating systems, radiographic diagnostics equipment, advanced life support systems, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferred.
- Must provide documentation of eligibility to legally work in the United States without an employer‑sponsored.
- Must be able to pass client background screening for security clearance.
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, vibration, and risk of radiation.
- Regular exposure to risk of electrical shock and frequent exposure to working near moving mechanical parts.
- Noise level usually moderate.
- Climb or balance, taste, or smell occasionally required.
- Reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl regularly required.
- Sit, stand, walk, use hands or fingers, handle or feel, talk, or hear frequently required.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 10‑25 pounds.
