At North Bay Health, the Surgical Technologist II is responsible for the delivery of patient care to assigned patients under the direction and supervision of a licensed professional nurse. The technologist works as a team member with the primary function as the “scrub person” in the surgical suite and other clinical areas. They provide specialized resources to the nursing department and Patient Care Services Division through their role as a service lead, providing education, case consultation, or other program services on an ongoing basis.
The Surgical Technologist II works as a Service Lead for a specialty surgical service. These services include but are not limited to:
- Cardiovascular Surgery
- ENT
- General
- Gynecology
- Hybrid Room
- JRP
- Neurosurgery
- Ophthalmology
- Orthopedics
- Plastics
- Podiatry
- Robotics
- Trauma Services
- Urology
- Vascular
As a Service Lead, the technologist will work with the Clinical Nurse Service Lead to ensure:
- Updated Preference Cards
- Acts as a liaison between the surgeon and the operating room
- Manages and maintains service‑specific supplies
- Provides educational instruction on new service supplies and equipment

Qualifications Education- High School Graduate; graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program (required).
- Current certification in Basic CPR through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum one year of acute care operating room experience as a Surgical Technologist (required). Trauma II experience preferred.
- Knowledge of sterile technique, safe use and care of surgical instruments and equipment, and various inpatient surgical procedures.
- Basic Windows computer skills (required).
- Good communication skills; works as a team member.

- Hourly salary range: $48.77 – $59.31 (based on years of experience).
