The Superior Court of California, County of Solano is a unified trial court serving the community through general and limited jurisdiction over diverse case types including criminal, traffic, civil, family law, probate, and juvenile cases. The court operates with 23 judicial officers and approximately 196 staff members across four facilities in Fairfield and Vallejo, CA. The presiding judge, The Honorable Alesia Jones, provides judicial leadership, while Court Executive Officer Brian K.
Taylor oversees non-judicial operations. The court is committed to providing fair access to justice within Solano County.
This is a full-time on-site role for an Official Court Reporter located in Fairfield, CA. The Official Court Reporter will be responsible for creating an accurate and complete record of court proceedings, including transcribing testimony, legal arguments, and rulings. Additional tasks include preparing written transcripts, verifying proper recording of all records, and maintaining compliance with applicable rules, statutes, and court guidelines.
Qualifications- Proficiency in Court Reporting and producing accurate transcripts
- Experience in documenting Court Proceedings and Testimonies
- Qualifications as a Notary (or ability to obtain certification if required)
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and standards of courtroom procedures
- Exceptional listening and typing skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced court environments
- Possession of requisite licensure or certification as a court reporter in the state of California
