3rd Shift Tea Room Attendant

• Responsible for feeding appropriate tea to hoppers based on production schedules.
• Read & understand production reports and requisitions.
• Maintain acceptable levels of tea in hoppers.
• Ensure that the proper tea flavor is being used.
• Monitor and assure that the dump stations are filled properly and as required.
• Determine the time frame for refills by visual sight.
• Responsible for identifying and gathering of all reclaim to be shredded.
• Monitor shredding machine to assure it is running properly.
• Be alert to possible tea mixture problems.
• Communicate with production personnel to ensure production is running as required.
• Complete and maintain daily and weekly reports as required.
• Return and accurately document materials from each work center at the end of each production run.
• Understand & operate the shredding machine according to all machine instructions and quality standards.
• Monitor draining of machines after completion of shop order.
• Clean and air out hoppers and lines to machine after tea is drained.
• Clean and maintain dust collectors/filters daily and weekly.
• Assist in receiving new shipment of bulk tea and bagging.
• Maintain housekeeping in the tearoom as instructed.
• Follow R.C. Bigelow’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
• Comply with RC Bigelow Safety and Health Rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Skills/Training Required:

• Ability to learn computer related work requirements, PC bar coding.
• Ability to learn proper operation of forklift, electric lifts and pass required driving examination.
• LX – use of RF unit.
• Team-player, work well with others. Flexible work schedule, available when required.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide into all units of measure and common measuring tools.

Education and/or Experience:

One-year previous experience in shipping, receiving or material handling operations or equivalent. P.C. Skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively relate necessary information to applicable personnel. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
