The Skilled Care Unit RN must demonstrate strong clinical assessment and documentation abilities, with the capacity to develop and implement individualized care plans. Effective communication and teamwork are essential, as the RN will collaborate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary staff while supervising CNAs and LPNs. Competence in medication administration, pain management, and infection control procedures is required, along with the ability to remain calm and professional in emergency situations.
The role also demands organizational skills, sound judgment, and a compassionate approach to patient care, ensuring both safety and dignity for residents.

NATUREOF WORK
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Skilled Care Unit provides direct and supervisory nursing care to residents, ensuring continuity of care across shifts. This role is responsible for assessing patient conditions, developing and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications and treatments, and documenting changes accurately. The RN serves as a resident advocate, collaborating with physicians, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to support patient education and discharge planning.
In addition, the RN supervises CNAs and LPNs, delegates tasks appropriately, and promotes a safe, compassionate, and professional environment. Strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and the ability to remain calm in emergencies are essential to delivering high‑quality care and maintaining the hospital’s mission of excellence in patient service.
