Due to one of our team returning to his family farming operation, we are looking for a talented individual to join our team at Fairfield Farms. We are based 10 minutes north of Ashburton and operate a large scale mixed arable farm covering 2500 ha made up of cropping, lamb finished, a beef unit and wastewater farm.

This role will provide an opportunity to work primarily with our Cropping and Cultivation teams, meaning no two days will be the same and a variety of tasks will be offered, including operating our modern fleet of tractors and equipment, along with assisting our stock team during the winter months.

The successful candidate will have:

• Attention to detail and take pride in completing tasks to a high standard
• Tractor operation experience with large horsepower tractors, including cultivation, drilling, spraying, fertiliser spreading and crop harvesting
• Combine experience would be advantageous
• Modern technology and GPS knowledge
• Basic computer skills and record keeping
• Class 5 licence (would be an advantage) or willing to obtain
• General farm maintenance skills
• Initiative and the ability to operate independently
• The ability to multi-task and adapt to ever-changing priorities
