Duration: 12 Months
Pay Rate: $24.81/Hr. on W2.
Note:
Client is looking for Associates in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering graduates. Training will be given.
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of related utility industry work experience; or an Associate’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Civil/ Mechanical Engineering Technology or related fields.

This position supports all 4 I&M districts and will require travel across the service territory. Overnight travel would only come into play during a storm if asked to support damage assessment; otherwise, all travel is day trips. This group supports the design of Grid Modernization and Transmission-related projects. Experience in the electric utility is a plus, a minimum associate’s degree preferred but not required.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Job SummaryUtilize DDS software to analyze distribution utility poles for the purpose of adding grid modernization equipment or line rebuilds associated with transmission and station projects.
Track due dates for assigned projects, and work with the design team and others, like PMs or line coordinators, to ensure designs are accurate and high quality.
Responsibilities- Possesses technical knowledge acquired from an Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronic/ Civil/Mechanical Engineering Technology. Gains knowledge of standards, codes, and regulations relevant to the area of assignment. Gains knowledge with pertinent equipment, material, systems, and business processes. Assists employees in handling defined portions of routine problems when beneficial to the Client. Possesses basic computer literacy, knowledge, and skills.
- Performs work activities as assigned and coached by higher-level employees. Demonstrates ability to work with others in supplying information and seeking assistance as necessary.
- Plans work in accordance with Client standard planning practices. Prioritizes routine work to meet the demands of the company. Maintains accurate records.
- Applies technical knowledge and experience in resolving problems encountered in assigned work. Uses initiative in looking for opportunities to improve the process and increase job knowledge/technical skills. Seeks out, compiles, analyzes, and interprets information necessary to perform work activities and solve problems.
- Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with internal and external customers. Assists in the preparation of technical reports and papers. Demonstrates the ability to be a team player. Relates to people in an open, friendly, and sincere manner.
- Develops decision-making skills based on sound judgment and job knowledge. Develops an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the local organizational unit.
