During your time with us you will:
- Be part of the Manufacturing Engineer team within the Operations organization at Genie
- Provide daily engineering support for existing product lines and problem-solve issues on the line causing production delays
- Utilize lean concepts to make improvements
- Develop and evaluate Engineering Change Request, Engineering Change Notice, and Special Manufacturing Instruction documents
- Currently pursuing an ABET accredited bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automation, or similar field
- Able to work full-time 40 hours per week for 6 months in-person in Moses Lake, WA
- Work hours M-Th 5:30am-4:00pm
- Desire to work in a hands‑on work environment in a manufacturing plant
- Experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as Solid Works and AutoCAD
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Interest in joining the Leadership Development Programs after graduation
- Experience in robotics, mechatronics, programming (PLC, Python), electrical engineering, or automation
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and goals
- Experience in hands‑on club (FSAE/Baja, etc.) or previous internships
- Positive and energetic
- Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks/projects at one time, and/or project management experience
- Attention to detail and accuracy
The compensation for this position is $26/hr for undergraduate interns and $28/hr for graduate or returning interns. This position is eligible for holiday pay and, if desired, medical insurance.
